An Italian man who calls himself 'mutant' has inked his face and eyeballs black, had his tongue split in two and given himself horn implants as part of his extreme body modification. 


Nicolo Saverino, 27, from Aprilia, Italy, who works full-time as a contortionist, began modifying his body at the age of 18 and has covered around 70 per cent of himself with tattoos, including black work on his face and eyeballs.  


The 27-year-old plans to ink 100 per cent of his body black from head to toe to achieve his desired look.


Nicolo also has 13 piercings on his face, a tongue split, ear splits and two horns implanted under the skin on his forehead.


After having his ears split, Nicolo kept the sliced off parts in a glass jar so he could look at them. 



Explaining the reason behind his look, Nicolo said: 'I only spend money on this because I like making changes to my body and love taking new challenges.


'I see the beauty in horror. I don't like having points of reference or idols, I prefer to be original to create without copying others.'


Nicolo's unique look has gained a mixture of reactions from people, however, he doesn't let the negative comments get to him.


Nicolo, who was raised by his two grandparents, said his friends and family are supportive of his appearance and love him for who he is.


He said: 'I faced many problems growing up and had to overcome so many obstacles, which also led me to change my appearance.



'My grandmother, who I call mom, and my grandfather raised me. My mother was not present in my life.


'Many people compliment me on my appearance, on me being free to express myself through my magnificent art.


'There are also heavily offensive comments which are true insults, but I have learned to control myself and let it flow. Some people are too focused on taking the positivity of others away.



'My friends and family support my modifications. They are happy for me, they love me for who I am.'


Nicolo urged people to freely express themselves and not be afraid to find their true calling in life.


He added: 'Life can be warped and most of the time it can be tough.


'But it is worth living it. Be comfortable with yourself and be free to express yourself.


'You must never be afraid of finding yourself.'
